Mission & Values Of
Faith Baptist Christian SchoolVISION STATEMENT
To provide an educational environment and experience designed to foster spiritual, academic, social and physical development in each child enabling them to realize their God-given potential for service in the local and extended community that honours God and promotes His purposes.
MISSION STATEMENT
Faith Baptist Christian School exists to further the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ by encouraging and equipping students for involvement in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). This involves seeing each student fully develop their God-given talents, abilities and gifts to their maximum potential enabling to fulfil God’s will for their lives.
Our Core Values
Faith Baptist Christian School seeks to provide an educational programme that is:
- Pleasing to God
- Pleasing to Government
- Pleasing to Educators & Teachers
- Pleasing to Parents
- Pleasing to Students
Biblical Foundations for teaching & learning
Because of the belief that a true knowledge and understanding of life comes from a personal relationship with the author of life, the Lord Jesus Christ and that this truth is in the first instance revealed through His word, the school seeks to embed Biblical foundations for teaching and learning in every subject area from whole school documents to individual unit plans.
Education that is current and compliant with relevant legislation
Because the Bible teaches submission to human authority as being ordained by God, FBCS seeks to provide education that is current and compliant with the legislation and regulations established by various governmental agencies including the Melbourne Declaration, Australian Curriculum (ACARA), Non-State Schools Accreditation Act and Regulations, as well as other documents related to the operation of non-state schools.
Educational practice that is aligned and supported by solid pedagogy
Because teachers and parents are accountable to God for the education provided to children, educational practice needs to be aligned to and supported by solid pedagogical research. This pedagogy needs to respond to the individual needs of students and relevant to the content of curriculum with a view to ensuring that all students reach their full God-given potential and purpose in life.
Biblically-based education that provides every student the opportunity to develop holistically
Parents have the responsibility for Biblically-based education and training for their children. This process involves each child being provided with a full opportunity to develop in all areas of life including spiritually, academically, socially and physically.
An educational programme that is varied, engaging and responsive to students’ individual capabilites
Because every person must give an account of themselves to God, all students need to be given the opportunity to learn to view and live life from God’s point of view. The educational programme must be varied, engaging and responsive to the individual needs, interests, learning styles and capabilities of students.
Statement of Faith
- The Bible is the Word of God and without error.
- There is one God, eternally existing as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- God is good and created a perfect world.
- Adam’s sin brought death and suffering and separation from God.
- Jesus is fully God and fully man, born of the virgin Mary, without sin.
- Jesus died on the cross for our sins and conquered death through his resurrection.
- We need to repent and turn to God and prove our repentance by our deeds.
- We are saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus, not by our good deeds.
- Jesus will one day return to judge the world and establish his Kingdom.
- There will be a new heavens and a new earth, restored to their original perfection.
